Cool and creative cafes or coffee shops

If you thought wining and dining was just restricted to the mundane routine of buying stuff and eating on the same old table-chair concept, then think again. Ambiance too plays a major role in ensuring that customers frequent a joint. In order to give you an insight into the world of the most amazingly structured cafes which will leave you awestruck, we bring to you the following list. Read on and, well…thank us later!

D’espresso cafe, New York city

The reason this cafe is able to hit the numero uno position on our list is because it’s got to be one of the most amazing illusions ever created. Upon entering, you’ll be left spell-bound by the book-shelf tiles. The tiles cover every nook and corner and have pictures of book-shelves printed on them which create an illusion of a library with books arranged on the floor.

USP: It’s perfect for those who like the idea of being surrounded by books.

Cafe/day by Suppose design office, Shizouka, Japan

This cafe can easily be mistaken for a parking lot because of its asphalt floor and traffic markings. The chairs are made up of recycled car seats which make you feel like you’re traveling while eating.

USP: Though the food is good, the place scores higher on the creativity chart.

Cardboard cafe by B3 designers

A one of a kind idea, this cafe has walls made up of an incredible 8,000 card boards! The boxes are painted and stacked like bricks to give an illusion of real walls.

USP: It’s a novel way of not using cliched brick and mortar walls and is a good way to get rid of old cardboards.

East beach cafe, Littlehampton, UK

Unmissable from a distance, the cafe is built out of stacked organic-shaped rust-colored steel which gives it a unique look. You can’t miss it.

USP: The place is said to have the ‘Guggenheim effect’ derived from the Guggenheim museum in Spain.

Das Neue Kubitscheck, Munich, Germany

A fun place to chill out in, it’s noted for its unique architectural design. Curious details such as installations of ‘cake boxes’ with different sculptures of exotic cakes inside lend it an interesting look.

USP: The cafe is exquisitely sculptured in order to titillate visitors while not going overboard.

Airy Fairy, London

Airy Fairy isn’t just a cafe but doubles as a gift shop too. What makes it unique is the coffee shop tucked away in the back which serves some of the best coffee and tea along with home-made lunches and cakes. Mouthwatering, isn’t it?

USP: Shopping while eating. What more can you ask for?

Open Space bar, Austria

The unique extension building is what sets the Open Space bar apart as no other building like it exists in the area. The extended space has an unusual shape set on a high storey, giving you a panoramic view of the surroundings.

USP: If you want to fly high and eat, then this is the place for you.

Buns and Guns

From waiters dressed as military people to helicopter sounds in the background, everything has a military feel to this cafe. You can order a mortar burger or a terrorist meal and enjoy being on the frontline…with food.

USP: For those who want to get a feel for an army atmosphere, this is the place.

Modern Toilet, Taiwan
Ever thought of eating your favorite meal while sitting on a toilet seat? While the idea may seem bizarre, specially designed toilet seats to sit on while dining makes this a truly innovative design concept.

USP: Toilet and food together…for adventurous souls.

Vampire Cafe

Blood red chairs and red melted wax with creepy sound effects in the background will send a chill up your spine. The Vampire Cafe is beautifully done up and is one of a kind.

USP: A must visit for those who walk on the dark side.
