M2 Metro Station promises to bring human beings closer to nature

M2 Metro Station is one of its kinds in the world as it promises to bring humans closer to nature without making any compromises with the modern technologies available. The project has had a long developmental period associated with it. The main attraction of the project is its folding concrete roof covered with green grass that extends till the end and finally bends towards the ticket office. The folded concrete green patch pulls out till the pedestrian ramp.

M2 Metro Station

The whole project was completed in three phases where the first phase was a light rail station that had red printed glass and a new pedestrian bridge. The second phase incorporated escalators, a ticket counter and a subway station, but that’s not all. A beautiful roof carries the entire attraction followed by a pedestrian ramp that increase its overall beauty and also creates further transit connections at the heart of the city. The third phase was completed by giving a final touch to the entire project and surrounding areas. The folding and rupturing architecture is reminiscent of Lausanne’s topography and Alps’ geographical history.

The whole architecture tends to convey a public message of nurturing the environment with the course of development in a balanced way. There is a sophisticated linkage between the developmental faces and a unique approach has been given to the project by incorporating green carpet on the roof of the building. This building is also a home of transportation authorities and they enjoy privacy, natural light and live an eco friendly life.
